Highwater Detox specializes in 24/7 drug and alcohol sub-acute detoxification & residential rehabilitation. Our addiction treatment specialties include sub-acute detox, residential rehab center, dual diagnosis treatment, and medication-assisted treatment.

Highwater Detox is a private, 12-bed, co-ed inpatient detox and residential rehab center in Granada Hills, near Los Angeles, California. We provide medically supervised sub-acute detox, residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation, and treatment for co-occurring disorders. Our doors are open 24/7, and our programs run every day of the week.

Behind those services is a team with more than 20 years of experience in addiction treatment and a shared commitment to helping each patient build a life they no longer need to escape from.

Our Mission

Our mission is to give every person who comes through our doors a safe place to stop, heal, and start again. We aim to treat withdrawal quickly and comfortably, to address the underlying causes of addiction, and to prepare patients for a sustainable life in recovery.

We believe that anyone can recover. Addiction is a treatable health condition, not a character flaw, and people deserve to be treated with dignity at every stage of care.

Our Story

Highwater Detox grew out of decades of hands-on work in addiction treatment in Southern California. Over those years, our founders saw a clear pattern: patients did best when care was personal, consistent, and delivered in a setting that felt more like a home than a hospital. Large facilities can make people feel anonymous at the exact moment they most need to be seen.

That experience shaped every decision behind Highwater Detox, from limiting our capacity to 12 beds to offering couples and pet-friendly programs that remove common barriers to treatment. We are part of a family of Los Angeles-area treatment programs that share the same clinical philosophy and standards of care.

Our Approach to Treatment

Individualized Care From Day One

No two people arrive at treatment with the same history, substances, health needs, or goals. Every patient at Highwater Detox receives an individualized treatment plan, built after an initial assessment and updated as they progress. Plans can include medical detox, Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT), therapy, counseling, and holistic activities in the balance that makes sense for that person.

Treating the Whole Person

Addiction affects more than the body. It touches emotions, relationships, work, finances, and self-worth. Our holistic approach pairs evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) with wellness practices like yoga, massage therapy, fitness, nutrition, and time outdoors. The goal is to help patients rebuild the daily habits that support a healthy, substance-free life.

Dual Diagnosis Expertise

Many of our patients live with a mental health condition alongside a substance use disorder. We treat both together through our co-occurring disorders program, because progress on one often depends on progress on the other.

A Seamless Continuum of Care

Because we offer both detox and residential rehab, patients can move from one stage of care to the next without changing facilities, repeating paperwork, or losing the relationships they have built with staff.
